Goed gekleed is a four-part workshop series that I developed and facilitated for Avansa Limburg as part of the Living Lab Circular Textiles Hasselt. The series encourages participants to approach their wardrobe with greater insight, ownership, and enjoyment. The goal: to connect people with their clothing, so that they naturally buy less new items and make more sustainable choices.
The methodology combines style analysis, behavioral insights, and circular principles with accessible exercises. Color and style are used as leverage for more conscious purchasing, use, repair, and disposal. The series does not focus on dictating “correct” choices, but on strengthening autonomy and well-being.
Module 1: Style & identity
Color, fit, and personal style as the basis for a wardrobe that works and lasts longer.
Module 2: Conscious shopping
Purchasing strategy, decision register, quality characteristics, and sustainable alternatives.
Module 3: Use & care
Extending lifespan, maintenance, mix & match, and building a capsule wardrobe.
Module 4: Repair, upcycling, and end-of-life choices
Practical repair techniques, upcycling, second-hand, recycling, and insight into the impact of the fashion industry.
The workshop series focuses on behavioral change with both personal and social impact:
• fewer impulse purchases
• more reuse and repair
• greater knowledge of circular options
• increased well-being and overview of one's own wardrobe
• concrete contribution to the local textile transition
The series was announced by the City of Hasselt and Avansa, and appeared in interviews, magazine content, and broader communications within the Living Lab Circular Textiles, among other places.
